Finding and Using Census Data in R

Learn how to access and analyze U.S. Census Bureau data directly in R with the powerful tidycensus package. This workshop is designed for researchers, analysts, and data enthusiasts looking to harness demographic, social, and economic data for their projects.

In this hands-on session, you will:

• Set up and configure the tidycensus package in R.

• Access and download Census data, including Decennial Census and American Community Survey (ACS) datasets.

• Clean and visualize Census data with the Tidyverse.

• Create maps and geographic visualizations of Census data.

  All workshops are held at Kelvin Smith Library and open to students, faculty, and staff from any department. They are free to attend and do not require prior subject-matter knowledge, with the exception of one advanced R workshop. However, registration through CampusGroups is required.
