Hear from Rachel L. Fink, managing director of the Cleveland Play House (CPH), and Alumnus Alexandru Zaharia about the nearly century-long organizational partnership between CPH and Case Western Reserve University. Learn about the unique history of CPH’s many buildings over the years, including the 77th Street Theater (1948-1983) and its significance to theater history.

Attendees are invited to further enjoy refreshments and explore related special materials on display in the library. 

Alumnus Alexandru Zaharia (GRS ’26, art history) will share how his work with the Cleveland Restoration Society, completed through CWRU’s Graduate Certificate in Publicly Engaged Humanities, helped secure historic recognition for the former 77th Street Theatre. 

Rachel L. Fink, managing director of the Cleveland Play House, will discuss other building sites of CPH and the long-standing organizational partnership between CWRU and CPH, including the MFA Acting Program, ranked among the top drama schools by The Hollywood Reporter. 

Kelvin Smith Library’s Special Collections houses the Cleveland Play House Archive Collection.
