CWRU is rolling out an institutional account with the Open Science Framework. Ian Sullivan is visiting KSL to provide two training sessions on using this new tool for faculty, staff, and researchers who are interested in data management, project collaboration, and research workflows.

Please join us for a day-long workshop to learn easy, practical steps to increase the reproducibility, accessibility, and collaborative nature of your work in the Sciences, Arts, and Humanities. No knowledge of programming or other specialized tools is required!

Morning Session: 10:30am - 1:00pm

The first session is suitable for any researchers who have heard of these issues and tools and are looking for an outline of them that includes practical applications and suggestions that can be applied to their own work. Participants gain a foundation for incorporating reproducible, transparent practices into their current workflows by creating a reproducible project from start to finish. What is OSF, how does it work as a project collaboration and data management tool? How can you use it to run a study?

Lunch (provided): 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Afternoon Session: 2:00pm - 4:30pm

The second session is focused on more advanced OSF workflows and assumes a basic level of familiarity (hopefully gained in the first session). Practice using OSF to run a lab or integrate projects together. Addresses privacy protections and IRB concerns. This session will examine case studies and design appropriate open workflows for different situations.

We welcome everyone who is able to stop by, even if you cannot stay for the full duration of the event. Drop in and pick up some familiarity with the tool as we move forward with its institutional implementation.

Please invite any faculty, staff, or researchers you think may also benefit from learning about this tool!
