The annual, international GIS Day (www.gisday.com) will be held on November 13th, and this year marks CWRU’s first-ever participation in the global event. Our event will be a low-key celebration of all things geospatial, from traditional GIS technology, to virtual reality, engineering, and history. If it can be mapped, its GIS! This year, we invite participation from all members of CWRU and the wider community in the form of lightning talks, conference-style presentations, research posters, informational booths, or hands-on experiences.

CWRU’s GIS Day will be a relatively informal, low-stakes opportunity to present your research and learn about how GIS is being used around our community. Lunch and cake will be provided!

We anticipate presentations on any subject related to GIS, including but not limited to:

Using GIS in the classroom
Web mapping
Urban planning
Geomorphology
Remote sensing
Network analysis
Healthcare mapping
Spatial analysis
Demographics
Anthropology
Archaeology
3D technologies
Virtual/augmented reality

If you would like to present at this event, the submission form is available here.

All proposals should be submitted no later than November 1st at 5:00PM.
Participants will be notified of acceptance by November 8th at 5:00PM.
