We're almost at the end of the semester!! Thank you for supporting us and attending our events this semester :)

CWRU LMSA+ Picnic with Exec!!

TOMORROW (4/20) from 2-3 PM we will be hosting a picnic with Exec at Wade Lagoon. You will be able to meet the new executive members and enjoy some free food catered by Barrio! We will also have some cool, fun activities so make sure to come 🫡

Volunteering Opportunity 5/2 & 5/9!

We have a great volunteering opportunity for you to give back by inspiring Painesville Latina HS students!

Dates: May 2nd or May 9th
11:15 am-1 pm

Dr. Yepes-Rios will be there on May 9th!

Location: HOLA Hispanic Community Center

Transportation and lunch will be reimbursed!

VA Volunteering Opportunities!

This semester we will be collaborating with the Cleveland Louis Stokes VA Hospital's Center for Development and Civic Engagement!

Please ensure you have proof of your flu + first 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

6 Volunteer options:

1. Consider volunteering as a Compassionate Contacts Corps!

Duties: 15-60 min weekly check-in with a vet who lacks a social support system to combat loneliness + ensure they're not alone and getting the care they need!

Pros: you coordinate the hours you can volunteer + don't need to physically go somewhere to volunteer, it can be from the comfort of wherever you desire :)

This over-the-phone program, allows you to engage in a friendly conversation with our Veterans who are lonely or lack a social support system, to let them know that they are not alone.

2. Patient Escort Program
Push Veteran patients to their appointments inside of the hospital using a wheelchair. 🚗👩‍⚕️

3. Admin work available in the Office of Information & Technology (OI&T) and the Patient Care Administrative Services (PCAS).

4. They are looking for someone who is certified or willing to complete the training in Reiki, Tai Chi, or something similar to assist Veterans! 🧘

5. We are also looking for someone to drive our golf carts
🚗🚗🚗 to take our Veteran patients to and from their appointments (this program has not started yet, but it will be soon.)

5. Shadowing Observership Program
Identify, contact, and shadow a VA Physician 👩‍⚕️

6. Assist our nurse managers with direct patient care 👩‍⚕️
