Case Western Reserve University School of Law proudly presents the inaugural Steven S.
Kaufman Family Anatomy of a Trial Lecture Series, a program designed to elevate trial
advocacy skills for law students and practicing attorneys. Each lecture features one of the
nation’s most accomplished trial attorneys, who will share insights into the strategies and
techniques that shape effective courtroom advocacy. A networking reception will follow each
event, and all sessions are pending approval for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.
W. Mark Lanier, founder of The Lanier Law Firm, is widely regarded as one of the most
influential trial attorneys of his generation. In this lecture, Lanier will explore the foundations of
trial advocacy: how to develop a compelling trial story that resonates with jurors. Drawing on his
decades of courtroom experience, he will demonstrate how to weave facts into persuasive
narratives that drive success at trial.
