Trial Attorney Mark Lanier to open the 2026-2027 Kaufman Lecture Series

Legendary trial lawyer Mark Lanier will lead off the 2026–2027 Steven S. Kaufman Family Anatomy of a Trial Lecture Series on September 30, 2026, at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. This will be a masterclass on the art of storytelling, including trial themes, winning use of demonstrative exhibits, and opening statements.

Lanier is recognized as one of the nation's premier jury trial lawyers. As lead trial counsel, he has obtained billions of dollars in jury verdicts in some of the nation's most complex and consequential civil cases, including claims of corporate responsibility and opioid addiction liability by Big Pharma. Most recently, he served as lead counsel in the groundbreaking trial verdicts against Meta and Google on claims alleging that the companies’ social media platforms contributed to youth addiction and mental health harms.
