Case Western Reserve University School of Law proudly presents the inaugural Steven S.
Kaufman Family Anatomy of a Trial Lecture Series, a program designed to elevate trial
advocacy skills for law students and practicing attorneys. Each lecture features one of the
nation’s most accomplished trial attorneys, who will share insights into the strategies and
techniques that shape effective courtroom advocacy. A networking reception will follow each
event, and all sessions are pending approval for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.
Luke L. Dauchot, partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, is a seasoned trial attorney known for his skill
in high-stakes courtroom advocacy. His lecture will focus on the art of delivering a persuasive
closing argument, demonstrating techniques that capture jurors’ attention and reinforce a
compelling case narrative. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how to end trials with
maximum impact.
Bio:
Luke Dauchot is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on intellectual property and complex commercial cases. He has first-chaired many civil jury trials, obtaining some of the highest jury awards in venues throughout the country. His practice extends to appeals; he has appeared and argued before state and federal courts of appeals, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Luke also appears and argues before the United States Patent and Trademark Office Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
