Join us for a 4-part workshop series featuring Teaching Cleveland, a local nonprofit organization that educates community members about Cleveland’s history relative to today’s challenges facing Greater Cleveland.

Part One: Identity and Community January 26, 3:30-5:00pm - An exploration of one’s identities, what shaped the identities, and how those fit within CWRU’s identity.

Part Two: Social History of Cleveland February 23, 3:30-5:00pm – Who came here, who called it home, and how did it shape and change the community?

Part Three: Legacies of Systemic Inequalities March 22, 3:30-5:00pm – How social systems and history have shaped Cleveland today.

Part Four: Engagement in the Community April 19, 3:30-5:00pm – Who is doing the work at the ground level to create social change and how can you get involved in the community?

About Teaching Cleveland:
Teaching Cleveland connects educators, youth, and community members to the city’s history and provides a collaborative forum for examining and addressing the current challenges facing Greater Cleveland. With the mission of connecting students and educators with Cleveland's history of innovation, politics, and culture, Teaching Cleveland strives to create a love of place and encourages the integration of Cleveland's story into the classroom.

Open to all undergraduate and graduate students.
