Eric Liu, CEO of Citizen University, author and civic evangelist, will discuss "Become America: How to Revive Our Belief in Democracy” 

Citizen University is a nonprofit that works to foster a culture of powerful, responsible citizenship.  Liu's lecture is part of the spring 2020 Power of Diversity Lecture Series sponsored by the Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity.

In his lectures and presentations, Liu often tackles such questions as how do we as individuals, organizations, communities and corporations reinvigorate the meaning and spirit of citizenship in America.   He also discusses such topics as citizen power, civic health, the future of democracy and American identity.

Liu, son of Chinese immigrants, also directs the Aspen Institute’s Citizenship & American Identity Program and is a correspondent at The Atlantic. His is an author and has written eight books, including You’re More Powerful Than You Think: A Citizen’s Guide to Making Change Happen, the national best-seller The Gardens of Democracy and True Patriot and his first publication, The Accidental Asian, Notes of a Native Speaker.
