As part of the Provost’s Enhancing Civility & Connection Initiative, faculty are invited to participate in a listening session focused on fostering and sustaining civility in the classroom. These sessions recognize the vital role faculty play in shaping the student learning experience and the challenges that can arise when facilitating difficult or emotionally charged conversations.

Facilitated by members of the Civil Discourse Advisory Group, the sessions will provide a confidential and collaborative space for faculty to share experiences and perspectives. Together, participants will discuss effective practices currently used to create respectful classroom environments, identify tools and resources that may further support faculty, and explore strategies for navigating complex or polarizing topics while maintaining productive learning environments.
