At Case Western Reserve, we're committed to leveraging technology for the greater good. Last semester, an AI in Education Task Force began exploring AI integration in our educational processes, leading to the development of a five-year roadmap. This roadmap emphasizes promoting AI literacy, providing training, and expanding degree offerings.

To engage the community, we're piloting various AI initiatives this semester, starting with a faculty-focused lunch and learn series and a symposium. These events will showcase AI technologies used in classrooms, featuring speakers who will share program details, student feedback, and lessons learned. Faculty will have the opportunity to participate in Q&A sessions and live demos.

During this Lunch & Learn, Daniela Calvetti, professor of mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics in the College of Arts & Sciences, and one of her students will talk about how she allowed students to experiment with AI while making sure that the use of technology enhanced their learning experience.

In addition, Pooyan Kazemian, assistant professor of operations in the Weatherhead School of Management and UCITE Course Innovation Grant recipient, along with a student, will share how his students experimented with Generative AI in their course projects to conduct literature searches, summarize articles, and develop analogies to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
