When I'm not doing Res Life things, I enjoy spending time with family, exploring Cleveland, reading (current - Utopia for Realists), and a good Netflix binge (just finished Jessica Jones). I'm looking forward to working with you next year and hope that you have as much fun in Residence Life as I have had!

I enjoy my job because I get to interact with so many staff and students within and outside of the department. I have found the key to my job is being able to work with so many different types of personalities and being able to build individual relationships with all of them. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and I love to plan and host a party.
Gerri Collier

Hello, my name is Gerri Collier and I started working at CWRU in Residence Life in December 2014. I support the four Residential College Directors or (RCDs), and the four Assistant Residential College Directors or (ARCDs) for the First Year Experience students. Our goal is to help the students’ transition from being away from home, in most cases, for the first time; into college, and helping them achieve their academic goals by helping direct them to overcome their hurdles.
Before coming to CWRU, I worked for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) in an afterschool program. I got my Associates Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU).
I love working with/for as I call them “my scholars”. They keep me on my toes. I think Cleveland is the best place on earth to live; the people are friendly and helpful. I am a native Clevelander and during my spare time, I love to bake spending time with family and friends. I love to garden, watch TV/movies, play board and card games. I enjoy food tasting, concerts and plays.

Hello! I have been the RCD for Magnolia since June 2016. I came to CWRU after completing my MS in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Miami University and have really enjoyed working with the division, the department, and our students. In Residence Life I work with several committees, including RA Training, Marketing, Experience Model, and RHA. I also get to work with the Division of Student Affairs Professional Development Committee. I guess you could say I really like the training and development of people.
I am a proud Clevelander and have loved living and working in University Circle. I especially love the delicious food, passionate sports fans, world-class theater and art, and beautiful parks and coastline. If I'm not visiting my nieces and nephews or watching Netflix with my cat, I am most likely catching up with good friends over tasty food or a board game. When the weather allows for it, I enjoy eating on patios, attending street fairs like Taste of Tremont and the Feast, and biking through the Rocky River Valley.
