About Us

SAMSA is an organization that focuses on promoting the professional, political, and social goals of American medical students of South Asian heritage and the general CWRU SOM student body. We strive to be leaders in healthcare and to provide a diverse, inclusive forum for scientific, educational, cultural, charitable, and political interaction among our members. Our chapter focuses on building community within our own organization, as well as with other affinity groups at the CWRU SOM and in the greater Cleveland community. Our chapter provides a channel of networking, support, and open communication among our members nationally and between local chapters. Our group is focused on community service, educating the university community about issues of South Asian health, and increasing interaction among medical professionals and medical students.
