About Us

The purpose of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society (SELS), is to provide members, alumni, and all organizational stakeholders with insight and education on key legal issues encountered in the sports, film, television, and music entertainment business segments, while also providing members with unique opportunities to connect, engage, and cultivate industry relationships. The Sports & Entertainment Law Society will deliver on these objectives in two important ways. First, SELS will provide participants with information, resources, and access to successful industry professionals who will share their career achievements, and provide insight into topics ranging from discussions on some of the greatest legal challenges facing today's global entertainment market, to their experiences with talent representation, deal-making and negotiation, addressing intellectual property issues, and emerging opportunities in various entertainment segments. Second, the SELS organization will host a series of networking and social events both exclusively and in strategic partnership with other complementary campus organizations, to unite students and experienced professionals with a common interest in this business discipline. SELS seeks to be the University's cornerstone of professional development, resource support, and networking for student constituents seeking to build their legal careers in the entertainment business.
