Ever wonder what people mean by open science? How it can impact your research? Come learn more about the open science movement with two of our CWRU librarians, Mark Clemente and Evan Meszaros.

Mark Clemente is the Scholarly Communications Librarian at the Kelvin Smith Library, where he educates and consults with the CWRU community on issues relating to copyright, scholarly publishing, open access, and licensing. Before arriving at CWRU in 2016, Mark worked in libraries at MIT, Boston College, and Georgetown University supporting programs in scholarly communication, digital collections and archives, and journal license negotiation. Mark holds a BA in Philosophy from American University, an MS in Library and Information Science from Simmons College, and is a former Library Fellow for Scholarly Publishing and Licensing at MIT.

Evan Meszaros is a Research Services Librarian at the Kelvin Smith Library, specifically supporting the research needs of the CWRU Departments of Astronomy, Biology, and Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences, as well as the Institute for the Science of Origins. Previously, he completed a BA in the Natural Sciences from Lawrence University, an MS in Biology from CWRU in 2011, and spent a few years working as an RA in the CWRU Dept. of Medicine's Division of Rheumatology. Since switching careers to academic librarianship in 2014, he completed an MA in Library & Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2018.
