Mission The objectives of SIAM, as established in the Certificate of Incorporation, are:o To further the application of mathematics to industry and science.o To promote basic research in mathematics and computational science leading to new methods andtechniques useful to industry and science.o To provide media for the exchange of information and ideas between mathematicians and other technicaland scientific personnel.The purpose of the CWRU Student Chapter is to promote the awareness of the SIAM community at CWRU and toencourage collaboration of research work amongst graduate and undergraduate students in CWRU from theMathematics department and other interested departments. Furthermore, we would like to establish and sustain anetwork of collaborators between Chapter members and Industry.
Membership BenefitsAny full-time student attending a college or university studying mathematics, engineering, computer science, physical science, or who uses mathematics or computational methods in any field of study, is eligible to become a Student Member of SIAM.There are plenty of opportunities for students to join SIAM for free.
