2. Apply the 5Cs of sound scientific writing to a significance section.

Dr. Louise Acheson, MD, MS, is a Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Reproductive Biology at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. An alumnus of Harvard Medical School, she is also an attending physician at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, with decades of experience combining clinical practice with community-based research. As a primary investigator on major genomic and public health studies, including the federal Family Healthware Impact Trial, Dr. Acheson has authored and reviewed a vast body of medical abstracts and peer-reviewed papers. Her unique position as both an active scientist and an educator makes her uniquely equipped to help faculty synthesize complex data. In this workshop, she will share her framework for transforming dense scientific data into concise, high-impact language that captures the attention of journal editors and conference reviewers alike.
