The bedside encounter remains the heart of medicine. We are excited to invite you to a one-day Bedside Medicine Conference dedicated to sharpening your physical examination and diagnostic skills and reinvigorating a culture of bedside medicine at our institution.

Keynote Faculty: Brian Garibaldi, MD

We are honored to welcome Dr. Brian Garibaldi, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Garibaldi is the Charles Horace Mayo Professor and serves as Director of the Northwestern Center for Bedside Medicine. A nationally recognized leader in clinical skills education, he will guide us through the physical exam the way it is meant to be learned — at the bedside.

What to Expect

Through a combination of hands-on demonstrations and interactive didactic sessions, Dr. Garibaldi will cover high-yield topics in:

• Cardiovascular physical examination — refining auscultation, inspection, and maneuvers that change management (including pulsus paradoxus)
• Pulmonary physical examination — correlating exam findings with underlying physiology and diagnosis
• Innovative bedside medicine teaching --- learn how to best teach bedside medicine to your learners

You will leave with practical, immediately applicable techniques to elevate your diagnostic accuracy and confidence at the bedside.
