Flyer for Principles of Sound Scientific Writing: A Series -- Specific Aims: The Approach: The Nuts and Bolts of Your Grant Application

We will make use of a structured paradigm to bring clarity and conciseness to your scientific writing. In addition to interactive lectures, participants will engage in small group exercises and receive peer feedback
Objectives:
1. List and describe three key strategies in developing a successful approach section for a research grant proposal.
2. Describe the application of the "5Cs" (conciseness, clarity, cogency, commonness, and consistency" to a grant proposal.
3. Locate at least one source for review of prior successful grant proposals.
