Childhood Matters: Schubert Center Conversations - Equipping Ohio Providers to Support Immigrant Children
Registration
Registration is now closed (this event already took place).
Details
Ohio providers and community members are invited to join a discussion on how to better support immigrant children and their families, exploring the areas where they most often need help, from pediatric care to education and services connected to family courts. At the event, the Schubert Center will also release a new directory offering an overview of the most current and reliable national and Ohio-specific guidance and resources to support providers working with immigrant children.
George Bukenya, MS, Schubert Center Policy Researcher, will lead the discussion. A graduate assistant for Outreach Programs and the Provost Scholars, Bukenya now works at the Cleveland Clinic and remains deeply committed to public policy that strengthens youth education and health. He will be joined by Gabriella Celeste, JD, Policy Director at the Schubert Center for Child Studies.
This discussion is designed for anyone seeking compassionate and clear guidance in navigating a complex and constantly changing landscape, including educators, health and mental-health providers, social workers, legal and child-welfare professionals, community organizers, and students interested in child advocacy and policy. The event is free and open to the community.
