Marques Martin is the co-founder and Managing Partner of The Inkwell Group and a director at Insight2Profit. Marques has over 15 years of experience in private equity investing, strategy development, and corporate finance. Prior experience includes KeyBank, The Riverside Company, HIG Capital, and McKinsey & Co. Marques received his degree from Morehouse College.
The Inkwell Group was launched with a distinctive strategy to leverage the proven power of racial and gender diversity to enhance business performance and build value. In addition to providing operational expertise and strategic support, The Inkwell Group seeks to enhance lower middle-market companies through the addition of diverse executive and boardroom leadership.

Marques Martin is the co-founder and Managing Partner of The Inkwell Group, a lower middle market private equity firm. He is also a director at Insight2Profit. Prior to co-founding Inkwell, Marques was Senior Vice President at Key Community Bank where he was responsible for leading the $4 billion asset small business team’s product and strategy initiatives. Previously, Marques was a principal investor at the Riverside Company, a leading global middle-market private equity firm, a principal investor with HIG Ventures focused on investments in rapidly growing SMB enterprises, and an analyst with McKinsey & Co. Marques currently serves as the Advisory Board chairman for Cleveland Early College High School and is an alum of the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio’s LeadDIVERSITY program. He is a member of the JumpStart Leadership Council.
Marques holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Morehouse College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies.
