Andrew became dean of the Weatherhead School of Management in July 2024, after working as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley for almost 20 years. His focus is on cultivating a culture of trust and belonging in the school, enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration, implementing impactful experiential learning, and creating a workplace where innovation can thrive.
His ties to CWRU and Cleveland run deep—after immigrating with his family from Russia in 1992, his mother, Irene Medvedev, served at CWRU's School of Medicine for 22 years as a senior technologist, and he obtained his undergraduate degree in economics from CWRU in 1997. After earning his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2004 and 25+ years of professional experience, he is thrilled to be serving in leadership at his alma mater—a place that had such a tremendous impact on his own personal and professional journey.
This event will highlight the groundbreaking work and research that is happening at Weatherhead to ensure that students and alumni have continuous access to the resources they need to solve the most urgent challenges in management, and how dean Medvedev is leading Weatherhead staff and faculty in fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and global impact.
We warmly invite you to join us, engage with thought leaders, and discover how the Weatherhead School of Management is at the forefront of accessible graduate management education.
