Volunteer opportunity to assist at a COVID-19 Vaccine Site on CWRU's campus in the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center. (The location has changed to Veale Center track from Horsburgh Gymnasium!)

Volunteers are again needed to help work at the on-campus vaccine site that is being hosted for the City of Cleveland. The vaccine recipients are City of Cleveland residents who fit into Ohio's current vaccine distribution categories. 
The number of volunteers is limited. After the number of needed volunteers are registered, Campus Groups will create a waitlist. If you get promoted to 'registered', you will notified via email that you are now on the attendance list. 

Volunteers must be available for the entire shift time. Please sign up for one shift only to give other students an opportunity to participate.The different tasks a volunteer may assist with are:
  • Helping push a wheelchair for community members from Lot 53 (Veale parking garage) to the vaccine site inside Veale.
  • Providing directions for community members from Lot 53 (Veale parking garage) to the vaccine site inside Veale.
  • Guiding vaccine recipients to the check-in table, available vaccine table, and/or to the exit.  
  • Greeting vaccine recipients and ensure everyone is wearing a mask.
  • Providing a mask to those who do not have a mask.
  • Providing vaccine recipients directions to the restrooms in Veale.
  • Asking people to maintain a safe social distance.
  • Sanitizing used clipboards, pens, and chairs.
  • Verifying vaccine recipient stayed their 15 or 30 minutes after receiving their shot.
*Please dress for the weather with comfortable shoes as some roles will be outside.
*At this time, volunteers are not guaranteed to be vaccinated.
*Please note that, given vaccine availability, the distribution schedule may change. If that happens, all registered volunteers will be contacted via email - we appreciate your flexibility!
