Site Information: William Rainey Harper School is an International Baccalaurate school in Cleveland that has a partnership with Say Yes Cleveland, which provides support services for students including after school academic support.

Service Information: Volunteers will work with groups 1st through 6th graders to provide one-on-one homework assistance and academic learning on a web-based system during the "9th hour" of the school day. While helpful, volunteers do not need to have prior experience in providing academic assistance to youth.

Time commitment: This site requires a weekly commitment for one semester and takes place on Fridays from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, which includes transportation time. Transportation is provided in the CCEL van by a CCEL Student Leader. Registered students will serve on the following Fridays: 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/14, 11/22, 12/6.

Pre-Service Requirement: a background check is required to volunteer at this site. Once you register, you will receive more information on how to complete the background check at no cost to you. Results must be received before you can start service.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
