The institute introduces and advances system dynamics knowledge and skills with applications to community health. System dynamics is a way to understand systems change using informal causal loop diagrams to formal models that can be simulated on a computer and used to plan systems change.

Three courses will be offered during the two-week period:

Introduction to Community Based System Dynamics
Five-day introduction to foundation of system dynamics, group model building and building simulation models (option of attending first two days) for anyone new to system dynamics.

Modeling Formulation and Analysis:
Five-day intermediate training covering advanced topics of system dynamics modeling and simulation for participants with previous training in system dynamics modeling.

System Dynamics Modeling Lab
Five-day applied modeling lab where participants work individually or small teams from start to finish in building a system dynamics simulation model on a topic interest for participants who
