Mission
The CWRU Footlighters is a group under University Media Board that is dedicated to bringing arts to the CWRU campus and giving students a creative outlet outside classes. To accomplish these goals, the club produces an entirely student-run and student-driven musical each semester. We have produced such big-name shows as Avenue Q, RENT, Sweeney Todd, Next to Normal, Spring Awakening, as well as lesser-known musicals such as Evil Dead: The Musical, Merrily We Roll Along, and The Wild Party. Each and every one of these shows is performed, directed, choreographed, built, and publicized entirely by students. Over the years, we have gained a reputation within both CWRU and University Circle as a whole, and we remain one of the most attended and prominent student groups on campus.

We believe our club would stand out from other clubs on campus by prioritizing and placing emphasis on educating members on how to utilize camera equipment and editing software. Our club would rather develop these skills so they can utilize them in other organizations & jobs as well as help cultivate a passion and interest in photography. In addition, the Photography Club functions as a healthy break from an academic environment and help members cultivate a passion and interest in the field of photography and editing. Through the development of the aforementioned skills, members will then be able to exercise their acquired knowledge elsewhere and potentially progress their hobbies into a professional setting.

CWRU Photography Club strives to attract those who are passionately involved in various forms of photography, be it professionally or as a hobby and provide a comprehensive introduction to beginners who seek further knowledge and participation in photography.
CWRU Photography Club educates members on photographic techniques, including but not limited to the operation of digital and analog camera equipment, photo editing software, and analysis of photographic works, by hosting lectures, discussions, and critique sessions. The organization assists members’ photography endeavors by hosting photography events in various locations in the greater Cleveland area and promotes members to various opportunities where photography talent is needed. The organization will strive to enrich the student community of CWRU by prioritizing making connections with student organizations and/or organizations, departments affiliated with/under the university.

One of the University Media Board's newer organizations, Studio 300 (often stylized "STUDIO300") is a film production club run entirely by CWRU students. We focus on three types of video content: short films, campus life videos, and collaborations with CWRU organizations and/or local groups. Studio 300 was created as a space for students to gain experience with filmmaking in all of its stages -- from brainstorming ideas, to planning the logistics of a shoot, to bringing the script to life behind (or in front of) the camera! Because we aim to provide a hands-on learning experience, students of all skill levels are welcome to get involved.

The Athenian first began in the year 2000, started by a couple undergraduates who thought they were funnier than everybody else. Since the early days, The Athenian has grown into a publication featuring satire, comics, anecdotal humor, silly humor, dark humor, irony, self-depreciation, and spelling errors. The Athenian is so named because the Case Western Reserve University mascot is the "Spartans", and thus, being the smart asses we are, we chose the name of one of Sparta's rival cities from back in the day. We're The Athenian, we're CWRU's official student humor magazine, and we're proud keep making people laugh (or at least smirk a little) since 2000.

The Film Society has been providing the students of CWRU with a place to relax at the end of the week. We show good movies and sell concessions for prices that won't break your bank. Our schedules offer a variety of films through each semester to cater to a broad array of students and community members.

CWRU Film Society members get to, of course, come to any of our screenings for free. Don't like the movie we're showing? That's cool too, there's always other members playing board games, hanging out, or occasionally finishing up their Java projects in the lobby. Additionally you'll get free popcorn and soda, and discounted candy. On Friday nights, there's free pizza and on Saturdays you can come out to eat with us and enjoy something that isn't Leutner for dinner. In exchange, we just ask you to show up a little early and help us hang up a couple posters.
