Mission
The CWRU Debate Society intends to hone students' communication skills and global awareness through practice of the parliamentary (British and American) and policy forms of debate. We'll challenge ourselves to look at and be able to argue on both sides of a particular topic, as well as actively listen to and poke holes in an opposing argument. Parliamentary debate has two key attributes: it is a partner debate (two-on-two), which will train teamwork, and it is impromptu, so we will focus on quick thinking and knowledge of current issues. Policy debate, similarly, is partner debate but in a prepared format. Debate club will create a space for open, chill discussion, with an emphasis on the definition of discussion being talking between people, not just one person stating their ideas. Eventually, we also hope to participate in intercollegiate competitions, such as the National Forensic Association tournaments and the International Public Debate Association tournaments.

Membership Benefits
The Debate Society organization will give members the opportunity to participate in intercollegiate debate tournaments for public forum and extemporaneous debate. The organization will also offer training during club meetings to prepare for tournaments, as well as host within-campus tournaments.

Model United Nations is a competitive intercollegiate foreign and public affairs activity that seeks to develop delegates' skills with public speaking, diplomatic compromise, resolution writing, group leadership, and the accurate representation of a nation's foreign policies while fostering a greater understanding of how the United Nations works, the cultural, political, and economic backgrounds of other nations, and the foreign affairs community in general.

Membership Benefits
Model United Nations provides members with the opportunity to travel and compete at other colleges' conferences. At conferences, team members develop public speaking, collaboration, and negotiation skills. Members of CWRUMUN's home team get the opportunity to work with high school students and help them learn about international affairs. All members also have the ability to network with our extensive alumni network.

Mission
Case's Undergraduate Mock Trial is a competitive organization within the American Mock Trial Association. Students compete as both witnesses and attorneys and present civil and criminal cases in front of attorney evaluators. Mock trial is open to students of all academic disciplines, and no prior experience is required. Anyone interested in gaining confidence, improving public speaking, learning about the law and having fun is encouraged to join! As an organization we have multiple competing teams based on students availability and experience.

Students get to compete against teams all over the country; win team and individual awards at several prestigious invitational and regional tournaments.
