Details

Convocation is the university-wide ceremony where the president confers degrees to all the graduates. It is a traditional ceremony that is attended by many faculty, guests and dignitaries, and is the only time that all of the university's graduates are together for a ceremony. The convocation speaker gives the commencement address, and honorary degrees are presented to recognize excellence in human endeavor. No diplomas are presented to students during convocation.

Convocation begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Veale Convocation Center.

Attendance at convocation is required for all undergraduate students, along with graduates of the School of Medicine and graduates of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences. Attendance is optional for graduates of other schools.

Tickets are required for guests. For guests without tickets, the convocation will be broadcast in several auxiliary viewing locations on campus and via a live webcast.
