At a New England boys’ boarding prep school in 1959, a group of freshmen try to make their way in their new home and are inspired by their English professor, John Keating, an alumnus now returning to teach. As the year goes on, they revive his old poetry appreciation club and find other ways to discover themselves, break free from the expected, and “seize the day”. Some faculty and parents, however, consider Keating a bad influence and worry about what it all means for the boys.
