Captial Stacks with CWRU Alumni

Join us on Friday, September 12 as part of the Case Western Reserve University Entrepreneurship Speaker Series for a roundtable discussion with Regina Sosa (CWR '23), Ammar Kazi (CWR '22), and Will Brune (CWR '23).

Regina Sosa Valdovinos
Regina graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in International Business and International Studies. During her time at CWRU, she was active in the Program Rewarding Innovation in STEM Entrepreneurship (PRISE) through the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women. She was also an Alumni Venture Fund Fellow through the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship where she was able to scout for new deals, perform due diligence on venture backed businesses, and assisted with the fund structure development. After graduation, Regina was accepted into Venture for America (VFA), a two-year fellowship geared at preparing the next generation of startup leaders through education and job placement. Through VFA, Regina was connected to her current role at the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City where she is Capital Access Manager.

Ammar Kazi
Ammar graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Premed and Economics. During Ammar's time at CWRU, he was an Alumni Venture Fund Fellow through the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship where he supported the development of the program, conducted due diligence on venture backed businesses through market research and financial analysis, and scouted for new deals. Additionally, Ammar was a member of the Northeast Ohio Student Venture Fund (NEOSVF) and participated in the Venture Capital Investment Competition during his time at CWRU. After graduation, Ammar joined TrueBridge Capital Partners with a focus on funds and growth investing. Most recently, he has become part of the XYZ Venture Capital team. XYZ Venture Capital is an investment firm that invests in early stage founders building across the public sector, fintech, enterprise, climate, and tech-forgotten industries.

Will Brune
Will graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2023 with a Master of Finance degree and undergraduate degrees in Finance and Economics. While at CWRU, Will was a part of the Alumni Venture Fund Fellowship through the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship. The Alumni Venture Fund supports stage-agnostic, venture backed, CWRU affiliated startups and spin outs. As one of the first AVF Fellows, Will assisted in the structural development of the program as well as refinement of operations and the diligence process. Additionally, Will was a member of the Northeast Ohio Student Venture Fund (NEOSVF) and participated in the Venture Capital Investment Competition during his time at CWRU. After graduating in 2023, he joined Mutual Capital Partners as a Venture Analyst. Mutual Capital Partners is a Cleveland-based venture capital fund focused on medical device and healthcare IT investing.
