ESG stands for Environment, Social, and Governance. It is a framework used to assess a company's non-financial performance in those three areas. ESG reporting allows companies to demonstrate their commitment to the environment, social responsibility and ethical governance. Transparently disclosing their performance in these areas can help companies build trust and differentiate themselves from competitors, attract investors, and manage their risks related to their material environmental, social, and governance matters. Using ESG and financial considerations can allow a company to make more long-term sustainable business decisions while considering their risk management, reputation, and investment opportunities. This can lead to more resilient business models that are better prepared for market shifts.

In this mainly interactive workshop, we will first discuss the influence of ESG factors on business strategies and operations and then participants will partake in a role playing activity where they will have to consider the perspective of a variety of job functions within an organization in order to make a joint business decision.

This program is presented as part of Burton D. Morgan Foundation’s 2025 Speaker Series on Free Enterprise.
