NWSA Summit Breakout Session 2: Student Leadership Council - Modeling Feminist Community Engagement in a Student Organization

Many leadership programs, even those with social change/justice goals, draw upon traditional models
of "expert" leadership and the banking model of education. In our Student Leadership Council, we bring in social and critical models of education, reducing gatekeeping in leadership work and honoring student viewpoints and positionalities. Student panelists will reflect on projects they initiated and participated in, including the discussion and planning processes and the impacts. This interactive session provides applications for your campus.
