The Graduate Student & Postdoc Coaching Program is a free program open to all graduate students and postdoctoral scholars/fellow at CWRU to develop both personally and professionally.
To be eligible, you must not be currently participating in another coaching program.

The program takes coachees through the five steps of the Intentional Change Theory (developed by Richard Boyatzis in Weatherhead). This program is staffed by volunteer coaches, and we ask that you seriously consider the time commitment and level of interest. The fall 2019 session will run from September - December.

Each participant will engage in 3 individual coaching sessions with a professional staff coach certified through the Weatherhead Executive Coaching program. The participants will engage in one-on-one self-reflection and self-action planning. Participants will be given the workbook "Becoming a Resonant Leader" to use during the coaching process.

Information sessions about the program will be held on:
September 10, 12-1pm, Mandel School, Room 236 (rsvp below)
September 12, 12-1pm, Thwing Spartan Room 273 (rsvp below)
-- Thwing 273 is located in Hitchcock Hall - aka Thwing West (above the Cleveland Room) - access to the space is done only by two sets of stairs - NO elevator

You must apply to be considered for the coaching program. Before filling out the application, please read this article: Intentional Change Theory, Achieving Manageable, Meaningful Change  to get an idea of what will be covered during the coaching program. The Intentional Change Theory is the framework for our coaching program.

You will be asked the following questions on the application:
  • Please share how you feel individualized coaching will benefit you personally and/or professionally.
  • After reading the article listed above, what part of the Intentional Change Theory resonates with you most, and why?
  • Please share with us where you are in your academic program and what's next for you. How can coaching/the Intentional Change Theory can help you get there?

The application deadline is Sunday, September 15th.

If selected, please save-the-date to attend an Orientation Luncheon scheduled for Friday, September 27th, 12-1pm in Tinkham Veale University Center, Senior Classroom.
