Student-focused "Think Big" event next Tuesday (3/19)

Spartans Speak! We want to hear from students about the future of CWRU

Join the Office of the Provost on Tuesday, March 19 from 4-5 p.m. at the Tinkham Veale University Center, Ballroom C, to discuss the future of Case Western Reserve University. This student-focused Think Big event will engage attendees in a dialogue about our future, our priorities and our identity as a university.

No formal program, just good discussion. Bring your fresh perspectives and your appetite! Snacks and light refreshments will be provided.

LOVE EQUALITY BALL

Join QGrad at Goldhorn Brewery on March 29th for the Love Equality Ball! This event is a celebration of love, diversity, and inclusion in our community. We will have free drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), free food, boppin' music, and good vibes. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and dance your booty off so look fancy, bring your friends, and come thru Y'all!

Attendance is free, but we will be collecting donations for the Greater Cleveland LGBT Community Center. We encourage you to give as much or as little as you can. Winners will be chosen by an anonymous committee and will be invited to attend the International Achievement Luncheon in April where they will be recognized and receive their award. Those who nominated the award winners will also be invited to attend.

Graduate Student Representative for Faculty Senate Committee on Graduate Studies

Academic Affairs is looking for an involved student to take on the responsibility of attending and actively participating in the Faculty Senate Committee on Graduate Studies as a Graduate Student Representative for the remainder of the semester. Please email bmb91@case.edu and provide a brief description of why you are interested in taking on the role for the committee. The student selected for appointment will be contacted subsequently by email.

Hudson Relay
Beginning in 1910, the Hudson Relays was created to commemorate the campus move from Hudson, OH to Cleveland, OH. The Hudson Relays itself is a race amongst the classes the put each class's best runners to the test in a 26 miles relay around campus. As per tradition, if the same class wins all four years in a row, they are treated to a steak and champagne dinner, courtesy of the President and the Provost.

The Graduate Student Council is looking for volunteers to participate in Hudson relay to represent the team Graduate and Professional Students. If you are interested, please email Sharvari Inamdar (ssi12@case.edu) or Devendra Waikul (dmw175@case.edu).

WISHED is joining Mac's Backs for their book club on "The Power" by Naomi Alderman. Book club topics include a feminist book club on 3/19 (7:30 pm), a general book club on 3/20 (7:00 pm), and a science fiction book club on 3/21 (7:00 pm). Diversity 360 Peer Facilitator Training

Come to be a trained Diversity 360 Peer Facilitator! You will learn how to teach the curriculum to incoming first-year students, starting with their orientation this coming August. Join a team of students who are invested in diversity and inclusion at CWRU!

Diversity 360 Graduate Student Series

Join the 2018-19 cohort of graduate students who will further explore topics introduced through the Diversity 360 program through facilitated sessions, panels or guest speakers on the following topics: Gentrification/Urban Planning, Academic Inequity in the K-12 system, Cultural Appropriation, Socioeconomic Status, Intersectionality: Women's History Month, and Colorism.

Civic Engagement In and Out of the Classroom

On Monday, March 25 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of Stephanie Tubbs Jones Residence Hall, the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning (CCEL) Student Executive Council will be hosting a panel discussion open to the CWRU community titled, Civic Engagement In and Out of the Classroom. It will be an opportunity for faculty members and staff at CWRU, representing different disciplines, to share with students how they are civically engaged outside of campus.
