ISS offers Optional Practical Training (OPT) Workshops to go over in detail the application process, student responsibilities, and other important considerations. OPT is available for F-1 students who are ready to graduate and intend to work in the US after graduation. Attendance at an OPT workshop (either in person or online) is required for the semester that you intend to apply for OPT.


In order to meet the attendance requirement, you can either attend an in-person workshop (registration is REQUIRED. Please register only for the date and time you plan on actually attending) OR you can view the OPT workshop online at any time and complete the OPT quiz here.


TO REGISTER FOR IN PERSON: Click "Register" to complete registration to attend this session. Only register for and attend one session- space is limited- during the semester that you intend to graduate.

Due to lengthy processing time by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) ISS recommends that students attend or view the workshop earlier rather than later.

The workshop will be about 1.5 – 2 hours long with time for questions. Please come prepared to take notes and plan to arrive on time and stay the entire time. We cannot allow latecomers due to the fast-paced nature of the material and our requirement that students be knowledgeable about all aspects of the process.
