Site Details: In the Greater Cleveland region, one in seven people experiences food insecurity - meaning they may not know where their next meal is coming from - and the Food Bank connects individuals with nutritious meals to close the hunger gap.

Service Details: At the Food Bank's Repack Center, volunteers are needed to help sort, prepare, box, and repack food to be distributed to local food pantries, hunger centers, and shelters. Please note: closed-toe/closed-heel shoes (no sandals, clogs, or flip flops) are required. The project may also include lifting boxes up to 35 pounds and standing on your feet for the duration of the service.

When + Where: Registered volunteers will meet at the CCEL office at 5:30 p.m. and return to campus by 8:30 p.m. Transportation is provided to the site in a CCEL van driven by a CCEL Student Leader.

Waiting List + Cancellation Policy:
  • If registration is full, please join the wait list as you will receive an email update if a spot becomes available. If you are still on the wait list at the time of the event, you are welcome to stop by CCEL at that time to see if any last-minute spots open.
  • Upon registering, please do your best to honor the commitment you've made to this activity.
  • If you are no longer able to attend, please email serves@case.edu as soon as possible to inform CCEL staff - less than 24 hours will be considered an unexcused absence.
  • Not notifying our staff of absences or too many absences in one semester may impact your ability to participate in future CCEL Serves programs.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
