Take a cool scan of an object and bring the 3D file home with you!

In this workshop, you will be led by an awesome Student Technician through basic 3D scanning setup, Romer Scan Arm settings, and 3D scanned model clean up. This training class is a resource for anyone looking to use the 3D scanner for the first time.

You will learn:
  • The capabilities and limitations of our Romer Scan Arm.
  • A beginner's overview of PolyWorks.
  • How to operate the scanner.
  • What to look for when using the scanner, as well as tips and tricks for troubleshooting common issues.
Important Notes:
  • All participants will make an instructor-led project. If your goal is to complete a personal print or project, this training teaches skills that support that goal, but will not provide time or support for personal projects.
  • Come in any time during our open hours to work on personal projects. Student Technicians are available during those times to help. Schedule a consultation for projects that need additional support.
  • This training is not mandatory for using the vinyl cutters. You can jump right in to 3D scanning with the Romer Scan Arm by following our online tutorials.
Training is open and free for participants ages 8+. Participants 8-13 must complete training with an accompanying adult.

This class may be cancelled if it does not reach its minimum required amount.
