Take your source-based research to the next level! In monthly workshops, experts from the Writing Resource Center and Kelvin Smith Libraries will guide you through the research writing process, from finding the best sources for your needs to using others’ expertise to advance your own original projects. Use this series to work on a current assignment in a small group setting, test out new strategies, and receive one-on-one instruction.

This series is appropriate for undergraduate students in all disciplines and will include a focus on research writing in STEM and the Humanities. Fifteen spots available - you must be able to attend all 3 sessions on 9/24, 10/15, and 11/19. Note that there are two series running on the same days - one in the afternoon and one in the evening. Choose the time that works best for your schedule!

Session 2: Beyond the Surface: Analyzing and Evaluating Your Sources
In this workshop, you'll gain confidence evaluating complex scholarly sources, learn some time-efficient strategies for locating the most valuable information for your own research needs, and evaluate sources to determine their relevance(and identify any red flags!).
