Details

Please join us for a public reading of John Milton's *Paradise Lost.* Milton's epic retelling of the Adam and Eve story has been dubbed the greatest poem in the English language. The students in ENG257B ("Sympathy For The Devil: Reading Paradise Lost") have spent the semester studying Milton's masterpiece, considering the poem in light of Milton's (sometimes eccentric!) religious and political views. The class will culminate in a public reading of an abridged version of the text. Students will supplement the reading of the poem with original interpretative performances, and there will also be opportunities for attendees to read aloud from *Paradise Lost* themselves during designated "open mic" sessions. Please feel free to join us throughout the day at your leisure, but attendees should expect to stay for at least 30 minutes to receive Explore credit.
