OneCWRU Day: "Stronger Together" Fun Run/Walk

Join with CWRU students, faculty, staff and administrators to celebrate and support the campus community with proceeds benefitting The Hidden Opponent, a mental health group geared toward college student-athletes.

The Fun Run will take place on the south side of CWRU's campus and start/finish at the Veale Athletic Center. This event is part of the OneCWRU Community Day on April 18!

OPTION 1: Creating a United Community
Join us for an interactive session to work together to create a piece of art (no artistic talent needed) while discussing the elements of effectively building trust in community: 
Common Goals
Collaborative Problem Solving
A Long-Term Approach
Empowerment/Engagement
Effective Leadership/Facilitation
Facilitators: Gwendolyn Garth, Mark Chupp, & Sandra Brinson

OPTION 2: Hip Hop & Mass Media
Be a part of a collaborative ideation about the intesections of hip-hop and journalism and how voices can be elevated through the art of deep communication.
What would the language of understanding look like if used to bridge historically separated spaces and places?
How could different modes of media and communication be used to heal divisions and create a new way forward?

OPTION 3: Make-and-Take: Plushie!
Practice basic sewing skills using laser cut felt animal designs. Participants will sew and decorate their own plushie while getting an idea of one way the laser cutters can be utilized. Excellent opportunity to get introduced to Sears think[box].

OPTION 4: Industry Secrets with the Grant Whisperer
Fundraising development strategies. When and where do you start? Tips and insights on navigating the industry

"Shining a Light on Shared Gifts" - Sponsored by the Neighborhood Advisory Council and University Circle Inc.

Join the Neighborhood Ambassadors--amazing local historians of the community and CWRU campus--to explore the hidden gems all around us. As we shuttle through the area, you'll be sure to learn something new about where you work, live, and go to school--and make a friend or two along the way!

Space is limited, so sign up today!

FREE parking in Veale Garage Lot S-53, 2158 Adelbert Rd. (must use credit card to enter--please request a voucher from the tour leader)
Bus departs from the turnaround at the wind turbine at 2:30 SHARP!
Check-in at CWRU Veale Athletic Center (2158 Adelbert Rd.) by 2:15.

There will be a FREE cookout on the Van Horn Field (just outside of the Veale Student Center) immediately following the tour (around 4:00 PM). ALL are welcome! There will be great food, games, music, dancing, and other fun activities for all! In case of bad weather, the festivities will be moved indoors. Come, bring your family/friends and spread the word. :)
