Wiki-Worthy: Who Gets a Wikipedia Page and Why Anybody Can Edit One

Have you ever wondered how your fellow academics got a Wikipedia page? Or how to update the one about your school, research area, or notable alumni? This remote workshop, open to faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates, will demystify Wikipedia's notability guidelines and editing process.

You'll learn the requirements for what/who deserves an individual page, how to responsibly create or edit entries, and how to navigate conflict-of-interest policies when writing about your own work or institution. We'll also touch on how Wikipedia fits into your broader scholarly presence alongside tools like ORCID and Google Scholar that can also increase your digital presence.
