Presenters: Rita M. Jones, Lehigh University and Leslie Pearson, Lehigh University

In this workshop, Leslie and Rita will guide participants through conversations and activities
designed to highlight ways to incorporate a theoretical framework into everyday practices. We'll
share our feminist praxis experiencs and create space for others to offer their own, giving
colleagues space to develop solidarity (Chandra Talpade Mohanty). Participants will build
theoretical frames, create and try out action steps, and reflect on their workshop experience to
build a feminist toolkit (Sara Ahmed) to take back to their campuses.

NWSA Summit Breakout Session 2: Student Leadership Council - Modeling Feminist Community Engagement in a Student Organization

Presenters:
Elle Shaaban-Magana, University of Alabama
Jackie Northrup, University of Alabama
Elizabeth Rogers, University of California Los Angeles
Jylexus Burks, University of Alabama

Many leadership programs, even those with social change/justice goals, draw upon traditional models
of "expert" leadership and the banking model of education. In our Student Leadership Council, we bring in social and critical models of education, reducing gatekeeping in leadership work and honoring student viewpoints and positionalities. Student panelists will reflect on projects they initiated and participated in, including the discussion and planning processes and the impacts. This interactive session provides applications for your campus.

NWSA Summit Breakout Session 1: Feminist Motherhood and Other mothering as Resilience and Collective Action in Women's Centers

Presenter: Nicole Generose, Lehigh University

As COVID impacts higher education, Women's Centers are drawing upon impossibly
limited resources in order to continue to deliver engaging programming and to offer safe spaces
for students. Using feminist motherhood and othermothering as tools, participants will walk
away from this workshop with ways, grounded in these practices, to empower students, disrupt
oppressive norms, and set boundaries - all necessary to continue to do feminist work in these
unprecedented times.

NWSA Summit Breakout Session 2: Unlikely Alliances on Addressing Toxic Masculinity on Campus: Strategies for Collaboration between Women's Centers and Fraternities and Sororities

Moderator: Natalie Bennett, University of Illinois at Chicago

Panelists:
Kevin Cane, University of Illinois at Chicago
Ada Cheng, University of Illinois at Chicago
Ramona Gupta, University of Illinois at Chicago
Emoonah McClerklin, University of Illinois at Chicago
Seth Quam, University of Illinois at Chicago

This hybrid panel/workshop will present and model unlikely yet effective alliances between two offices at the University of Illinois at Chicago. First, staff and student members from Women's Leadership and
Resource Center/Campus Advocacy Network as well as Fraternity and Sorority Life will discuss how we
have been effective in using innovative and creative formats, such as storytelling, intimacy-centered
conversations, and dialogue-centered workshops, in engaging fraternities and sororities in critical
dialogues about toxic masculinity. Second, we will divide participants into separate working groups and
invite them to brainstorm and generate potential ideas for collaboration for their own campuses in the
future.
