Discover the historical cords connecting Jews and Native peoples and an awakening to strive for an observant Jewish life while isolated on a remote island in Alaska’s Tongass Rainforest. Judge Voluck sits as Chief Judge for the Sheet’ka Kwaan - Sitka Tribe of Alaska; Presiding Judge for the Aleut Community of St. Paul Island; Presiding Judge Pro Tem for the Chickaloon Village Traditional Council; and as visiting trial and appellate judge throughout villages in Alaska. Judge Voluck will share day-to-day experiences as a Tribal Judge and how foundational principles of justice in Judaism inform and align with his work in Alaska Native Tribal Courts.
