Join Siegal Lifelong Learning for an in person lecture with Matthew Hodgetts, PhD, George B. Mayer, Visiting Assistant Professor in Urban and Environmental Studies, Case Western Reserve University
In early 2025, scientists confirmed that global temperatures had surpassed a key safety limit set by the Paris Climate Agreement. At the same time, newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew the country from the agreement, ending long-standing efforts to support environmental justice. What is the Paris Agreement, what are its goals, and what are the implications of U.S. withdrawal? How has the environmental justice movement in the U.S. evolved? Join this lecture to better understand the history and political context behind today’s global climate challenges.
