Join Siegal Lifelong Learning for this upcoming course taught by Phil Wanyerka, PhD, Director, Department of Anthropology & Archaeological Fieldschool Program, Cleveland State University
September 11 - October 9
This course will provide a cultural survey of the prehistoric Native American groups who occupied Ohio and surrounding areas as seen through the archaeological and historical record. Beginning with a basic review of the methods of archaeology and placing them within a chronological sequence, we will then proceed through the archeological record from the earliest Paleoindians to the Historic Native Americans who eventually settled in this region. The practical goal of this course is to understand and appreciate the lengthy record of Native American occupation and heritage in Ohio as viewed through the archaeological record.
