On March 20, the think[box] Derby returns with even more opportunities for racers to show off their creativity, ingenuity, and competitive spirit. We’re thrilled to welcome back Ian Charnas, Chief Engineer at CrunchLabs, as this year’s honorary think[box] Derby emcee.

In this competition, (almost) anything goes. Cars can be made from carrots, cardboard, or carbon fiber — your imagination is the limit!*

This workshop is free and open to all ages. Derby Patch provided at sign-in table.
 

SCHEDULE

Derby Day will run from 3pm to 7pm

3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

  • Derby Day begins! During this time, visit the Build-a-Derby Car station, Practice on the track, Decorate your apparel at the patch work station, Register your car (either made off site or at think[box]), and enjoy the food provided by Alladins. 

4:00 PM to 6:30 PM 

  • ITS TIME TO RACE! We will begin the racing competitions and challenges.  

6:30 PM to 7:00 PM

  • Race category winners will be announced. 

  • Raffle Prize winners will be anounced. 

  • NOTE: Guests must be present to receive Awards or raffle prizes. 

 

Membership

Prior to the workshop date, please sign up for a free think[box] membership! 

Fill out our Registration Form. When you submit the form you will receive a confirmation number by text and/or email. We recommend you do this before you come to think[box]. Otherwise, we will have you fill it out at our welcome desk.

If you are a Minor (under 18 years old), please have a parent or guardian fill out a Minor Registration Form. Please see our K-12 policies for more information.
