think[box] Prototyping Training - Laser Cutting

Come explore the laser cutter, one of the most popular machines in think[box]. 

Make a small, laser cut project from start to finish. In this workshop, you will be lead by a Student Technician through basic digital file design, laser cutting setup, and running the laser cutter. This training class is a resource for anyone looking to use the laser cutter for the first time. It is great for those wanting to explore laser cutting in a workshop-style format lead by an awesome Student Technician Instructor.

You will learn: 

• The capabilities and limitations of our Epilog laser cutters. 
• A beginner's overview of Corel Draw, with a focus on designing for laser cutting success.
• How to navigate the Epilog Dashboard and Epilog Laser. 
• What to look for while laser cutting, as well as tips and tricks for troubleshooting common issues.

 
Important Notes:

• All participants will make an instructor-lead project. If your goal is to complete a personal print or project, this training teaches skills that support that goal, but will not provide time or support for personal projects.
• Come in any time during our open hours to work on personal projects. Student Technicians are avalable during those times to help.  Schedule a consultation for projects that need additional support. 
• This training is not mandatory for using the laser cutters. If you would just like to jump right in to start laser cutting, you may access our online tutorials and come into think[box] any time. 

Training is open and free for participants ages 8+. Participants 8-13 must complete training with an accompanying adult. 

This class may be cancelled if it does not reach it's minimum required amount.
