Come explore serging with our Bernina L 890!
Choose a fabric and create a small instructor-led project using our serging machine. In this workshop, you will learn the serging process of seaming, cutting, and finishing all at once. A student technician will lead you through how to set up and choose your stitch. This training is a great resource for anyone looking to use the think[box] serger for the first time.

It is highly recommended that users have some machine sewing experience prior to taking this training.

You will learn:
  • Best applications and practices for using a serger
  • A beginner's overview of machine sewing, with a focus on different stitching types.
  • How to navigate the serger machine interface.
  • What to look for when using the machine, as well as tips and tricks for troubleshooting common issues.

Important Notes:
  • All participants will make an instructor-lead project. If your goal is to complete a personal print or project, this training teaches skills that support that goal, but will not provide time or support for personal projects. Users can come in any time during our open hours to work on personal projects. Student Technicians are available during those times to help.  Schedule a consultation for projects that need additional support.
  • This training is not mandatory for using the machine. You can jump right in by following our online tutorials.
  • Training is open and free for participants ages 8+. Participants 8-13 must complete training with an accompanying adult.
  • This class may be canceled if it does not reach its minimum required amount.
