The fabrication floor at think[box] offers machine training daily from 9:15 am-11:15 am. These trainings are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis via RSVP on-campus groups. New training slots for each month will become available on the last Friday prior to the new month. We look forward to seeing you in think[box]!

9:15 AM – 11:15 AM
The CNC Laguna training covers file setup and machine operation for the Laguna CNC Router.
9:15 AM – 11:15 AM
This training will provide basic skill and knowledge to begin MIG or TIG welding!
9:15 AM – 11:15 AM
Upon completion of this training, you will be able to know the basics of drilling and tapping at think[box].
9:15 AM – 11:15 AM
Grind training is meant to give a basic introduction to the sanding and grinding equipment at think[box], but does not include machines such as the thickness sander. This is the shortest training offered and will likely take between thirty and forty-five minutes to complete. This training is paired with saw which covers the use of the saws in both the wood and metal shops

The Waterjet training includes an overview of both the software and the machine operation!

The mill training provides basic setup and operation of the Bridgeport mills at think[box]. This training will give the introductory knowledge needed to operate the mill independently! Note that drill training is required prior to receiving the mill training.

This choose your own adventure style training offers individuals a variety of machines and tools to pick from that would best suit their current project or fabrication needs. Training available during this time slot: Waterjet, Grind, Saw, Table Saw, Planer/Jointer, Router Table, and Drill

This choose your own adventure style training offers individuals a variety of machines and tools to pick from that would best suit their current project or fabrication needs. Training available during this time slot: Weld, Mill (must already have drill training), CNC Router, Grind, Saw, Table Saw, Planer/Jointer, Router Table, and Drill
9:15 AM – 11:15 AM
Jointing and planning are woodworking processes that create dimensional lumber. Dimensional lumber is defined as pieces of wood with all adjacent faces 90 degrees away from each other, and with all opposing faces parallel to each other. In this training you will learn the fundamental skill needed to use the Jointer, Planer and Finish Sander in future woodworking projects!

The lathe is an extremely versatile machine tool. Typically a fixed tool is traversed around a rotating part to produce solids of revolution in an operation called turning. This training will introduce the basic operations and set ups available for turning!
